Ripple's RLUSD has hit a $1B milestone in supply as operations grow.
The company celebrates as its stablecoin continues to find product-market fit across a number of use-cases, including those spanning DeFi, aid distributions, corporate treasury and trade settlement, as well as funding of research activities. At the time of writing, RLUSD currently sits at #12 with a $1,028,063,274 per CoinGecko.
Ripple made an official post to commemorate the milestone:
While it is important to note that this is driving adoption for Ripple's stablecoin from the industry and enterprise side, their team is actively supporting other areas including both academic research and humanitarian causes, using RLUSD to fund various initiatives.
Two recent examples include their support for Water.org and World Central Kitchens, as well as smaller pilot programs to promote the efficiency of cash transfers for vulnerable population groups and those without appropriate financial access.
Speaking on these efforts, President Monica Long expressed:
“Our partners and customers are redefining how urgent aid, sustainable development, and financial support reach those who need it most It’s a powerful example of what happens when innovation meets purpose—showing how blockchain technology can reshape the systems behind global relief and unlock lasting impact at scale.”
At the same time, Ripple is fostering a vibrant research community and garnering leading exploration of cybersecurity in blockchain systems through its UBRI network. The integration of RLUSD has allowed it to fund different grants to the sum of $1.5M for 2025.
