Revolut has officially partnered with Polygon for enabling stablecoin payments.

The neobank has been growing its exposure to the stablecoin world in the last few months and has selected Polygon as one of its networks to send and receive stablecoin payments. This means users in the UK and EEA region are able to spend USDC, USDT and POL token for everyday purchases, as well as convert back to local currency. Recently, Revolut had revealed their 1:1 conversion plans for customers to limit the amount of fees spent.

Polygon has had quiet a resurgence as of late - the layer 2 network built on Ethereum had an interesting rise in the 2020/2021 cycle, and during the 2022/2023 bear market continued on improving its positioning as a chain meant for RWA tokenisation and fast stablecoin payments. The team has been announcing a number of other partnerships including projects with high volumes such as Polymarket and Stripe.
