Kaia has announced it is partnering with Line Next to build a mobile stablecoin platform called 'Unify', according to The Korea Times.
The announcement was made at KBW (Korean Blockchain Week) by Chairman Seo Sang-min about the beta launch of the mobile app for end of this year and aim to tackle a variety of use-caes, combining the modern use-cases for stablecoin payments and the opportunities of Web3 into one single platform.
Looking to create a regional blockchain hub for mobile users, Chairman Seo Sang-min expressed:
"We aim to connect Asia through stablecoins. Asia, home to about 50 countries, is one of the most fragmented regions in the world."
The app is to be designed according with the developing licensing and AML/KYC requirements of multiple Asian jurisdictions (Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea) that have started to evolve since the summer, and will look to offer a number of relevant local currency-backed stablecoins, including JPY, KRW, PHP, MYR, and others.
