Coinbase Announces Custom Stablecoin Issuance
Coinbase Announces Custom Stablecoin Issuance.
Coinbase has announced its own whitelabel solution for issuing stablecoins.
The public crypto and digital asset exchange had announced a series of product releases just before the Christmas holidays, including a hard lean towards tokenization and prediction markets, in an attempt to become what’s been called in this year as ‘the everything exchange’.
Based on Circle’s USDC stablecoin internally, the custom stablecoin solution will be managed by Coinbase on the smart contract and custody side, with easy integrations across its host of other products including Coinbase Prime. More and more it appears that the moat for stablecoin issuance is no longer alone with prominent platforms and issuers such as Agora, Brale and M0.
Also, Coinbase is continuing to contribute to the number of M&As that had occurred throughout the year, with a newly announced acquisition of The Clearing Co, preparing for the anticipated rise of both U.S. and global prediction markets and user engagement.
