Cloudflare has announced it will be launching its own stablecoin, called NET Dollar, with 1:1 US dollar reserves, according to the company’s newsroom.
The major cloud platform and email hosting provider is betting big on the future of global payments and Agentic AI space, with a thesis that AI Agents will be utilsing stablecoins as the main means of payment for everyday purchasing and corporate account top ups. Founded in 2010, Cloudflare trades under the stock ticker NET and services 5M+ clients.
NET Dollar doesn’t have a confirmed launch date as of yet, but more information is expected to be released as the company encourages developers to contribute to the next era of agentic commerce. Recently, it also supported the key protocols x402 from Coinbase and Google’s A2P (Agent Payments Protocol).
