Onchain FX is growing in currencies and reserve assets (Lucas)

AUSD is now a reserve asset on Mento.

Agora's AUSD stablecoin is now officially available as a reserve asset on Mento. The platform for FX onchain using stablecoins is able to select AUSD to mint USD conversion and increase protocol liquidity.

It is starting off with around $4.5M in AUSD reserves.

Exchange rate quote fees can be also paid in CELO or cUSD.

Recently, Agora had hinted at bringing over its stablecoin issuance operations to the U.S. following more positive legislation efforts surrounding both Genius and Clarity Acts.

Mento, on the other hand, is targeting a sector that annually brings in trillions of market value globally. The protocol is building out liquidity channels per individual currencies and popular trading pairs, with over 20 different local onchain currencies enrolled.

Mento uses Chainlink oracle for pricing the rates.
